Grenelle is the transformation of two small apartments in a 1950s building into a single family residence.
The project reorganizes the plan around an existing service core that had to be preserved. Rather than concealing this constraint, the design transforms it into the central point of articulation of the apartment.
Treated as a dark sculptural volume, this element structures the relationships between entrance, dining room, kitchen and living room, allowing circulation to unfold naturally around it.
Elsewhere, walls are thickened and inhabited. A sculpted partition forms a library on the study side while creating a niche in the bedroom beyond. Sliding perspectives, softened corners and carefully framed openings extend the perception of space and introduce subtle points of escape throughout the apartment.
Mirrors and controlled alignments further amplify these perspectives, allowing light and reflections to deepen the spatial composition.
The result is a fluid and articulated interior where constraints become structure and everyday circulation acquires a quiet architectural presence.
