Private mansion with landscaped garden – 300 sqm.
Complete restoration
In Montmartre, this brick townhouse occupies a remarkable site: the highest point of the hill, where several windmills once stood.
The project involved a complete restoration carried out in a strictly heritage-driven spirit. Circulation was clarified, parquet floors repaired, and the original cement tiles carefully restored or reproduced. A palette of colours inspired by the building’s history reinforces the sense of continuity.
The most significant intervention is the creation of a proper staircase hall.
A sweeping staircase now connects the three levels of the house — garden level, ground floor and first floor — in a language that feels as though it has always belonged to the architecture.
Below ground, two 18th-century vaulted cellars were entirely restored. Once used for storage related to the windmills of the hill, these stone rotundas regain their architectural presence.
The garden and its glass pavilion were also reorganised to restore clarity and continuity to the whole.
A careful restoration where each intervention aims less to transform than to reveal.
